23、November 1972.In north-western India, Rani-ki-Vav (the Queens Stepwell) is an inverted stone temple that honours and protects the sacred waters below. Constructed in the 11th century by Queen Udayamati, the stepwell is a single component with more than 500 carved sculptures of Hindu gods and goddess

24、es, literary figures and scenes of daily life.Nature and people both carved their history into the desert on Jordans southern bor-der at Wadi Rum. Sandstone mountains and broad, treeless valleys glow orange and red beneath an unforgiving sun. Thousands of petroglyphs and rock carvings reveal 12 mill

25、ennia of human life here.The Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System includes colourful, diverse coral formations, atolls, mangrove forests and coastal lagoons rich in marine life. The second largest reef complex in the world, the site is home to 500 species of fish. Many endangered species, including We
