He vaguely defined China English as the English used to depict unique things in China. This general defini
8、tion did not stir up any sensation in the field of C-E translation. In 1988, Professor Huang Jinqi (1988:39-47) confirmed a positive aspect of Chinese-colored English. His voice was immediately echoed by Sunli (1989:19) who held that some research should be done on the English in China. Professor Wa
