The mountain range in the west of the provinc
2、e pushes its political and economic activity into a concentrated coastal corridor from Fuzhou, the provincial capital city to Xiamen, a Special Economic Zone. Approximately 82% of the GDP and 64% of the population are in this corridor. Manufacturing industry leads all other economic sectors and has
3、been growing rapidly, driven by close links with Taiwan. The most affluent cities (Xiamen, Fuzhou and Quanzhou) are all located in the corridor. Good transportation networks connect all the key cities along the coast. The transportation links between the long corridor and its neighbouring provinces
