3、ies. E-business success is defined in relation to the potential of value crea- tion found in four interrelated dimensions, which are efficiency, comple- mentarities, lock-in and novelty. The enterprises studied have mainly achieved value through efficiency and complementarity and less through i n- n

5、e successful than the two other industries, tourism and food and beverages. Of the three countries the Spanish enterprises have been most successful in implementing e-business. Competencies offered As earlier mentioned, the research aim was also to identify e-business com- petencies offered SMEs. Th

6、erefore a survey directed to suppliers of e- business training offered was conducted. 115 suppliers of e-business training responded to a quantitative questionnaire. The result from the training supply survey showed that e-business trainers studied cover all the critical competencies needed to facil

7、itate e-business success. Further analysis of training supply indicated that focus in training offered is partly asymmetric. In general training is directed to technical use of e-business solutions, and less effort is put on competencies on strategic vision and planning. The research also identified

8、 differences in training o f- fered connected to country. In Spain many enterprises had specialised in offering SMEs e-business re- lated training. Finish training suppliers in general have little focus on SMEs from suppliers. The same situation was found in Norway where there is little focus on ent

9、erprises with less than 10 employees. An interesting question is therefore why small and medium sized e-business users do not invest in training offered. Gap discussion The project identified a gap between the competencies needed and those supplied. Analysis indicated that suppliers concentrate to m

10、uch on technical aspects, and to little on the strategic aspects of e-business. As mentioned we also noted that Spanish suppliers to a much greater extent offer competencies to SMEs than their Norwegian and especially their Finnish counterparts.
